Made it Monday: Re-purposing an Old Picture Frame

// October 16th, 2012 // madeitmonday, Uncategorized

I am a day late with my post, but I am so excited about this project I just have to share it.

This is an old picture frame I have had sitting in the corner for two years waiting for a purpose.  I loved the frame but wasn’t so much in love with the color of it.  It used to be a really ugly, dark, aged green and gold.  I covered it with a coat of Gesso to get rid of the darkness.  After that I covered it with various colors of  tissue paper, a bunch of inchies, craft paint, glitter paint, and iridescent medium.  My hubby added some eye hooks to either side for me.  I am turning  it into a storage piece for all of my ribbon and tapes.

i can’t wait until this project is finally done and will come back and post a pic when it is all put together.
